Review: Why I Use Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel On My Dry Skin

Many diseases and conditions are spread by not washing hands clean with soap and running water. Thus, the effective hand-washing and the use of hand sanitiser was developed based on the data from various studies. We need to keep our hands clean to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.

The best way is to wet the hands with clean and running water (warm or cold), not the old way of hand-washing by placing in a basin of standing water that has been contaminated through previous use. Using soap to wash hands is more effective than using water alone because the surfactants in soap lift soil and microbes from the skin. Most studies have shown that there is no added benefit for using soaps containing anti-bacterial ingredients compare with using plain soap.

The optimal length of time for hand-washing is also depend on many factors. However, most studies suggest that washing hands for 15-30 seconds remove more germs from hands than washing for shorter periods. In fact, many countries have adopted recommendations to wash hands for 20 seconds. It is important to dry hands after washing because germs can be transferred more easily to and from wet hands. Studies have suggested that using a clean towel or air drying hands are the best.

While hand-washing using soap is the recommended way to stay healthy, the constant using anti-bacterial soap can make the skin dry as it can strip the skin of its natural oils that create dryness which considered as one of the causes of premature ageing. Besides, extreme use of anti-bacterial products can reduce the amount of healthy bacteria on our skin which make the antibiotics to be less effective in the fight against new strains of bacteria called superbugs. Thus, it is important to apply hand-moisturizer immediately afterward to minimize skin irritation.

Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel

Bio-Oil® Dry Skin Gel is a new way to treat dry skin. Traditional dry skin products such as creams, lotions and body butters are made primarily from water. Most of this water simply evaporates when coming into contact with your skin. It’s often what causes the cold sensation that you feel when applying these products. Bio-Oil® Dry Skin Gel is made from oil, so feels “warm” on application. In a user trial conducted on dry skin sufferers, the majority said it was better than anything they had used before for dry skin.

Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel

Let’s talk about Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel which I bought last month. It is non-comedogenic which means it does not clog the pores. It can be applied on all over the body – face and body. Although this Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel has thick and oily gel consistency, it does not cause blemishes or enlarged pores. Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel contains only 3% of water, and has highly potent formulation blends emollients such as shea butter and humectants like glycerine, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and urea, along with skin soothing ingredients such as Vitamin B3 for an exceptional moisturising result. Bio-Oil is shown to be most effective when applied to new acne scars and it may still help lighten older acne scars. However, Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel should never be applied on cracked, bleeding or broken skin.

Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel

I love using Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel because it gets absorbed into my skin really quick. I don’t feel greasy skin but more to moisturized. No more dry skin. This product is so intensively moisturizing that I only need to use a small amount of product. I don’t use this product all over my face – just dab under my eyes, forehead, and neck. I also use it on my elbows and knees. The application of this gel is also easy and not messy at all. Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel is safe to be used on the face as long as you are not allergic to any of its ingredients or to essential oils.
