Review: Horien Eye Secret 38% Monthly Colour Contact Lenses (6 Colors)

There are tons of contact lenses available in the market today, and I noticed they offer a wide range of selection to choose from. I even have problems to choose which one is the best for me. Today I would like to share my personal experience on a top brand contact lens brand from Taiwan, Horien Eye Secret, which is now available in Malaysia.

Horien Optic Malaysia sent me a full set of their famous Horien Eye Secret Monthly Contact Lenses last month but I only got the chances to write a review about their products today as I was fully occupied with other tasks. This Taiwanese contact lens is manufactured by Yung Sheng Optical Co. Ltd. in Taiwan. The Taiwanese company has received major certifications such as ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 certifications, Japan’s FMA (Foreign Manufacturer Accreditation), and European CE and Taiwan GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). There’s nothing to worry about their contact lenses as they are certified both local and international.

I usually wear lenses throughout the day and my eyes usually feel dry and itchy at the end of the day. When it comes to choosing a nice and ‘friendly’ contact lens for my eyes, I can be very fussy including checking some of the information on the Internet and my concern is on the water content. I hate seeing myself with red and watery eyes while wearing contact lens, so it is important for me to choose a better pair of contact lenses. 

For those who have no idea about Horien Eye Secret lenses, their lenses have been designed to stay hydrated for more hours. Unlike other brands of contact lens, each of Horien Eye Secret lenses are wrapped by HEMA, an ingredient that ensure our eyes do not make a contact with the lenses’ colour additives. That makes Horien Eye Secret lenses different from other brands because most of the lenses have colour additives that easily peel off while we are wearing them. Besides, the contact lens is rather soft and thin, and I feel much comfortable wearing it. No irritation. No dryness. No blurry vision due to printing around the lenses.

Horien Eye Secret Contact Lenses are available in six (6) gorgeous colours. This is perfect for those who do not wish to look like too dramatic. In fact, these 6 colours are named with famous places all over the world. Let’s take a look at all of them. I did not wear all of them because I figured out that they do not stand out when I wore the blue colour. I guess it’s because I have a pair of dark brown eyes (more to black, I guess).

Moscow Blue has a nice colour which I love the most even though it does not make my eyes look very bluish. I actually love this especially because it does make my eyes hydrated. Not a single itchy feeling. I actually wore this when attending a friend’s wedding reception which was held in Magellan Sutera Harbour in Kota Kinabalu, recently. I just love how it does not make my eyes reddish. Perfect for those who love to look natural without being so dramatic.

Rio Coco is more to brownish honey, and the pattern is similar to Moscow Blue. The rim around the lens is darker than the inner part. It looks natural especially for those who have a pair of light brown eyes. If you love to look natural, this Rio Coco is meant for you.

Seoul Black is definitely another favourite. Why? Is it because I love Seoul so much? Hahaha! I just love the lace part around the rim of the lens. It’s just so pretty! This black may not stand out especially those with darker eye colour but this should be a perfect match for those who wanted to look like a gothic. Ditch those plain old black lenses, and wear this pair of Seoul Black.

Paris Grey is similar to Seoul Black except that the rim is not lacey. The inner part is more to greyish colour. As I mentioned earlier, the colour may only stand out for those who have lighter eyes colour such as light brown. Very natural, but not for those who are looking for a dramatic grey like those local Malaysian celebrities.

Here’s another lacey version of Horien Eye Secret 38% Monthly Colour Contact Lens. The Munich Brown is designed to be romantic yet cute. It would perfect to be worn by those who love brown but want to appear natural. One of my favourite for this version by Horien.

Amsterdam Purple may be the unique colour among all Horien Eye Secret 38% Monthly Colour Contact Lenses because it resembles an Anime eyes colour. This mysterious colour is my favourite even though it may not stand out as I have darker eyes colour.
