I love to start my day with a cup of good coffee. It is known to put us in a slightly better mood and stay more focused. Have you ever had a coffee that blew you away with its flavor? I cannot simply resist a deeper aroma with a distinctive roasted note and a richer coffee taste that leaves a lingering after-taste in the mouth. Today’s post is about Apai Ranau Coffee which I bought last month.
What makes this Ranau coffee tastes better? It is because the environmental factors. Due to the rising temperatures, more farmers to plant further up the mountains or higher ground where it is colder. However, there’s less space to go around the higher up. There’s no such thing as cheap coffee in this product. Morevoer, Apai Ranau Coffee has made its own ‘Less Sugar’ version to ensure that their coffee lovers can enjoy sipping Apai Ranau Coffee with less worry.
The Dietary Guidelines for Americans in its 2015 release was the first ever to include guidelines for coffee, and it is actually a good news for coffee lovers.
“Strong and consistent evidence shows that consumption of coffee within the moderate range (3 to 5 cups/d or up to 400 mg/d caffeine) is not associated with increased risk of major chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cancer and premature death in healthy adults.”
Commonly, it takes about 45 minutes for our body to fully absorb the caffeine we put into it. However, after 4-6 hours, our body as worked through ½ of the caffeine we gave it. The caffeine in coffee is impacting our body systems including producing an efficient dopamine system. Besides, caffeine helps to disable adenosine from being able to make us sleepy. In other words, we are not tired.
The caffeine gives our body a boost which does not allow us to hit the natural low energy especially after lunch. So, the best time to drink caffeine for max energy efficiency is when you’re coming down from a cortisol high.

What makes a coffee good or bad? A good coffee has its own enchantingly rich, intensely aroma, and unique flavor. In fact, ripe coffee beans make a better coffee than unripe beans. Apai Coffee Ranau is another local Sabahan coffee product from Ranau. In short, Apai Ranau Coffee has a rounded, mellow flavor with chocolate notes. My current favourite, so far! One sachet can be used from 2 times as it is quite big.
The only problem that I noticed is the marketing is based on ‘Made-To-Order’ as to preserve the quality and freshness of the coffee. The price is really reasonable. I just have to think of how to place order once I have finished this pack. I do hope they do deliveries around Kota Kinabalu.
