Health: The Hard-to-Swallow Truth about Shaklee Alfalfa Complex

Shaklee Alfalfa Complex

I find it’s hard to find a decent review on Shaklee Alfalfa Complex, and almost of the reviews are mostly promotional-based reviews written by the registered distributors. So, I’ve decided to write my honest review about this product. Please bear in mind that I am not registered as Shaklee distributor or agent. I bought this Alfalfa Complex because I usually consume Alfalfa as part of my daily diet routine.

Why Alfalfa?

Alfalfa is a natural diuretic that helps to regulate the body’s acid/alkaline balance. It’s famously known for its healing properties and help to relieve a variety health conditions such as Osteoporosis, Arthritis, and intestinal ulcers. Alfalfa contains 8 digestive enzymes such as, calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, chlorophyll, bioflavonoids, trace minerals, and vitamins (Vitamin A, D, E, and K).

What They Say

Alfalfa provides a wide variety of nutrients including calcium, phosphorus, vitamins, chlorophyll, and bioflavonoids. It’s a storehouse of nutrients, and the tap root reaches down as deep as 20 feet searching out nutrients and minerals from deposits in the soil, while its leaves gather large amounts of chlorophyll through the natural process of photosynthesis. Alfalfa Complex is a Shaklee Signature Formula originally developed by Dr. Shaklee.

What I Say

I bought a plastic bottle of 330 tablets which can last for 33 days if I take 10 tablets every day. The price is quite affordable and I find this is the cheapest Alfalfa product available in the market. I usually consume 5 tablets in the morning (before breakfast) to improve digestion, and 5 tablets before bedtime to aid with cells repairment. I have been taking Shaklee Alfalfa Complex for 2 months now, and I admit that it really do wonder to my skin especially provided relief on my skin allergies which I got after using skincare products which were not suitable for my skin.

This product helps with inflammatory, allergies, and bloating. This also helped to clear up congestion and runny nose. Shaklee Alfalfa Complex has also helped with my gastritis problem which I had been suffering for so long. These are just some of the benefits which I experienced from consuming this product for 2 months now. This is a traditional supplement so the effects would take about 4 weeks to see the result. It depends on the consistency of consuming this product. There’s no magic when it comes to supplement.

Shaklee Alfalfa Complex

One thing that I dislike about this product is I find it’s quite hard to swallow the tablets, and I almost puke whenever I tried to swallow 5 tablets at a time. I couldn’t swallow all 10 tablets at once. The taste was not that appealing also, and I find they are not suitable to be diluted in water or juice. It tasted really gross.

Shaklee Alfalfa Complex

My Verdict

Since this is the most affordable Alfalfa on the market, and I experience great result when consuming this product, then I would definitely purchase this again. The taste may be quite awful but I believe the benefits which should be sought after.

Where To Buy

You can actually buy this from any Shaklee Independent Distributor (SID). You don’t have to be Shaklee member to enjoy these benefits from consuming Alfalfa Complex.

  1. Hi. U can actually dissolve the alfalfa tablet in hot water and drink it as tea. There are people who combine it with peppermint tablet also from Shaklee and said it taste better that way.

  2. Is the Alfalfa tablet made from the leaf along with alfalfa seeds? I have Hasimotos Thyroiditis and have read that alfalfa tablets can contribute to Lupus. Also, does it act as a blood thinner. Thank you!

    1. Hi, Emily. Thanks for the comment.

There had been a concern raised about L-canavanine (an amino acid present in alfalfa seeds and sprouts) and vitamin E and their relationship to autoimmune disorders. The basis for these concerns appeared in a case study published in a journal. Shaklee Alfalfa supplements, which are manufactured using young alfalfa leaves (and not seeds or sprouts) contain only minuscule amounts of canavanine. Shaklee scientists explained the safety of this with a letter published in the American Journal of Nutrition. Thanks.

  3. These are hard to swallow. I’ve found that taking them with a scoop of yogurt really helps them go down easier. I haven’t purchased any other Alfalfa supplements, so I can’t speak to the cost comparison. I purchase them in a 700 Count bottle, which I found fairly expensive. I can only manage to take 7 daily.

  4. Hello. What is the best time to take the alfalfa complex??
And every time you take how many tablets
