This is another Korean drama which I failed to watch until the end because I was so damn busy, and always forgot to finish up watching all the episodes. I finally finished watching this last night because I was trying to kill some time because I couldn’t bear having to wait the final 2 episodes of Descendants of the Sun. Read more if you would like to know some spoilers, and was wondering what I think about this Korean drama of Ha Ji-won, and Lee Seung-gi.
What They Say
Kim Hang-ah (Ha Ji-won), is the legendary top female instructor working in North Korea’s elite special forces unit. With stamina, training tactics and strength in all areas, she is the perfect female soldier; however, she has never fallen in love before. Pure and candid, Kim Hang-ah’s goal is to fall in love and get married to a man. Lee Jae-ha (Lee Seung-gi), is the prince of South Korea’s monarchy. His personality reflects his royal position, with refined humor and a handsome face; however, he has little interest in pursuing politics. Though he seems perfect on the exterior, Lee Jae-ha is actually very materialistic and blunt about his own desires.
What I Say
The first 3 episodes of the drama is quite monotone. I find myself skipping some scenes because of the slang of North Korean. There are some hilarious parts which I love also especially when Hang-ah fought with an arrogant soldier. It was so unlucky for her as nobody wanted to date her as she was a top female instructor in elite special forces unit. She was too strong for a man.
I dislike Jae-ha at first because he was so irresponsible, and with that stupid mouth of him, I could be one of the 52% of the South Korean to vote having him kicked out of the royalty lineage. He was very arrogant and totally different from his brother who happened to be a very responsible and considerate King. Jae-ha loved to talk before even considering the consequences of his act would actually hurt other people. Hang-ah was hurt several times but she possessed the positive attitude because she was indebted to the King.
The King 2 Hearts has 20 episodes, and there were more murder plots by the M Society. You have to watch the drama to figure out why M Society hated the royalty so much. Both King and Queen were poisoned when they were relaxing in their vacation home. Jae-ha’s sister was pushed off the cliff, and she became paralysed. Jae-ha then became the King and more challenges and problems were getting on the way include the relationship between North-South Korea.
The ending is more interesting as both Jae-ha and Hang-ah worked together to ensure that there were no wars between the countries especially when the M Society tried to get U.S. involved in the conflict. They finally solved the problems, and all end in a happy ending. The story can be tad boring because it involves conflicts… Yes, more conflicts. I still find myself hating Jae-ha’s cocky attitude even though he changed into a more responsible King, husband, and father. LOL!
