Choosing toner for acne-prone and oily skin can be quite challenging as most products that claim to minimize the appearance of oily and acnes are sometimes result in disappointment. I found this toner when I was looking for a toner that can reduce my breakouts (after testing a product which gave me breakouts), today I will be posting a review on Garnier Skin Naturals Pure Active Toner.
What They Say
Concentrated in Purifying Salicylic acid and enriched with regenerating HerbaRepair (from blueberry extract), Garnier Skin Naturals Pure Active Toner visibly fights 6 signs of acne day after day. Imperfections are reduced, pores are tightened, skin is visibly even and smooth, redness and oiliness are minimised.
The bottle comes in a white bottle with blue flip top lid. The toner is like as clear as water but I have to admit that the strong smell is really a turn off. The product claims to contain 2% of Salicylic Acid in which I believe this could be a great thing as Salicylic Acid is well-known for its ability to suck up the oily, and reduce the redness.
This may be an answer for oily, and acne prone skin but it should be applied when needed only as it can dry up the skin if using it in long-term. I only apply this when my skin is experiencing breakouts. This toner actually remove the greasiness on my T-spot, and the oiliness on my skin. However, it does not fades the marks or tighten the pores .
Although this toner does help clear the skin, it takes more than 4-week even with regular use. I love the fact that this toner can last for a long time because only a little is needed at a time. Avoid eyes, and lips areas as this toner has a very strong alcohol scent, and can make eyes watery. Tingling sensation is expected especially when it is applied on pimples (which you just popped out). Not recommended to be applied on wounded skin.
