Review: Synergie Skin Practitioner Priority-B Essential Niacinamide Serum

Have you checked the formulations listed on your serum label lately? Frankly speaking, most of the serum ingredients on the market today (especially those that promise to reduce the appearance of your fine lines and wrinkles) are added with silicone which is often referred as Dimethicone. This silicone will smooth and fill the surface of your skin to make your skin appears younger with less fine lines and wrinkles. Ya, wrinkles atau fine lines yang kita bilang ‘kedutan’ atau ‘kurudot’ sana muka tu. Yang bikin kita nampak tua dari umur sebenar kita. Just like what you saw on the title, today’s posting is all about Synergie Skin Practitioner Priority-B Essential Niacinamide Serum in which I have received last month and tested on my skin for the past 14 days. Here’s my personal experience about this product, and some information that you might need to know about Dimethicone and Niacinamide.

Okay. There’s nothing wrong with Dimethicone as an ingredient but when it comes to results, I’d love to have active ingredient such as Niacinamide that can change my skin for the better, and for the younger me. Semua orang pun mau nampak muda daripada umur bioligikal diorang bah.

So, why Niacinamide? Niacinamide or Vitamin B3 can be obtained through the consumption of nuts, fish, fortified breads and cereals, and multivitamins. However, the best way to ensure that your skin get the most B3 is when used topically. Kasi sapu terus di kulit untuk dapat kesan yang lebih bagus. According to a study conducted by a team of Japanese dermatologists,  the result showed that out of 30 women who had wrinkles in the eye area, 64% of the subjects who received 4% Niacinamide cream tested on their eyes area had their wrinkles reduced. The study concluded that Niacinamide cream was ‘well tolerated and may be an optional preparation’ for wrinkles treatment.

Niacinamide, indeed, has tons of benefits for the skin, which includes:

  • Improvement of skin moisturisation which promote skin softness, suppleness, and hydration. It helps to prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL), and at the same time, helps to boost fatty acids and ceramides that leads to skin softness and suppleness.
  • Reduce the appearance of aging skin by stimulating the collagen secretion to increase skin elasticity.
  • Promotes a more even-looking skin tone through inhibition of the transfer of melanosomes to the surrounding keratinocytes which contributes to skin lightening activity. This, in fact, reduce the age spots which are visible around the eye and cheek areas.

Now you have a few information about Niacinamide, let’s take a look at what a Synergie Skin Practitioner Priority-B Essential Niacinamide Serum can do to the skin.

I have a combination skin which is prone to breakouts. Thus, I take serious note on the ingredients and their purity in any skincare products. This serum comes in a small amber bottle which I find it is quite travel-friendly which its tightly closed lid. This was my first experience of using Niacinamide, and I was looking forward to have it to reduce the appearance of my dark spots and acne scars on both of my cheeks. After I studied the benefits of Niacinamide, I expected it to reduce the appearance of fine lines on my forehead.

I applied this serum in the evening, just before I hit the sack. I followed the instructions given to ensure that it worked at its best. The serum feels very comforting on my face and my skin feels and looks moisturized. It has a lightweight serum that absorbed into the skin within seconds. It leaves my skin with smooth, supple, and hydrated all night long.
