Food: BBQ Chicken @ Imago Mall Sabah
My first experience having a delightful was BBQ Chicken @ Berjaya Times Square a few years back. It was a pleasant one as the customer service was a nice one. I understand that when we mentioned ‘franchise’, it means ‘standardised and controlled quality’. I loved the food served there, and the cleanliness was at its best.
This is my first time having my lunch at BBQ Chicken @ Imago Sabah. The premise is located at B-06 & B-07, Basement Level, just next to Pizza Hut. BBQ Chicken is apparently one of the largest fried chicken franchise business in Korea, and they are the first F&B franchise brand to be selected as one of Korea’s Top 100 Brands. With more than 4,000 outlets all over the world, BBQ Chicken is considered a place not to be missed out.
There were a few people inside the premise, not as busy as usual. So, my hubby decided to have our lunch there. I, on the other side, was thinking of having meal at DuBuYo but considering the premise was quite crowded, then I decided to follow my hubby as he has never been to BBQ Chicken before.
Customer Service. We were greeted by the staff on duty (18 February 2016 @ 12:15pm) as soon as we entered the premise, and with a smile. I love the warmth feeling as if I was entering my home, not a restaurant. The warm reception gives me the urge to write this blog as I only write a review to eateries that offer good service. Hospitality at tiptop, I must say.
A staff approached us and asked whether we would like to have a baby chair or not. Thank you for offering us, and we really appreciate it. We loved it when we were approached instead of calling a staff to ask for a baby chair. Thumbs up!
Cleanliness. I love walking into a clean restaurant. The floor was clean. I couldn’t find a single trace of chicken wings lying on the floor. No slippery floor because the flooring is made of non-slippery tiles. The tables were in order, and clean. The baby chair was clean, too.
Environment. I love the background music, and most of them were K-POP. The lightings were nice to complement with the dark background. It wasn’t too cold inside the premise, just cosy. I was afraid if my baby was making so much noise because she kept on knocking on the table as well as flipping the menu sheet.
Ordering Time. It took about 15-20 minutes to have our meal reached our table because the foods were freshly cooked. Frankly speaking, we didn’t even realised it took that long because the waiter kept coming to our table. LOL! He delivered the utensils once the other delivered the baby chair. After that, we were served with our drinks first, then the Chicken Cream Soup. The arrival gap between these 2 orders were about 5 minutes. All foods were served hot, and fresh because we could see how the salads still looked really fresh.
Foods (and drinks, too!). We placed order on the promotion lunch set which tagged at MYR 16.90. The set includes a drink (Korean Tea, Pink Guava, or Orang Juice). My hubby wanted the Pink Guava but it was unavailable. So, he ordered orang juice instead. So, we had Gangjeong Chicken, and Korean Charbroiled set. Oh! We also ordered a bowl of Chicken Cream soup for our little one. Overall, the foods are delicious. Gangjeong Chicken was a bit too spicy for my liking but my Hubby loved it so much that he said there’s no need to ask for Tabasco anymore. I prefer a more juicy meat and the fragrant steamed rice. I think the portion of steamed rice was enough for me and my hubby. The cream soup was quite creamy (hubby referred it as ‘very thick’) and my baby loved it, maybe because the texture was like porridge.

Gangjeong Chicken 강정치킨

Others. There was this male staff who asked us whether we enjoyed our meal or not. He also asked us if the foods were delicious or maybe we got a few comments. We enjoyed the meal so much, and the foods (and drinks) were great! My hubby loved the foods, and he said they are well-cooked. Great taste, freshly eaten! Please reward the staff on duty because they really did a good job, and that includes the people who were working hard in the kitchen. Thank you so much, Cik Yuzz (cashier) and her team.
The only thing that I would love to recommend is to put more latest Korean songs on playlist because I am an avid fan of Korean entertainment. LOL! We will come again soon, and will bring along our relatives and in-laws all the way from Korea as they will be visiting Sabah soon. Keep up the good work, BBQ Chicken @ Imago Sabah!
